CUSTOMS
There is no limit on the amount of money that can be imported into Senegal.
One camera, one (non-professional) video camera, 200 cigarettes, 50 cigars, one bottle of wine, one bottle of alcohol are allowed duty-free.
Customs authorities may enforce strict regulations concerning temporary importation into or export of items such as firearms, religious materials, antiquities, medications, business equipment and other items . It is advisable to contact the Embassy of your destination country in Washington or one of that country?s consulates in the United States for specific information regarding customs requirements.
Only 50 000 FCFA per person is allowed out of the country.
There is no departure tax at the airport.
TAXES
There are no sale taxes, but a tourist tax is charged in hotels. It is about $1.00 per person, per night.
In many countries around the world, counterfeit and pirated goods are widely available. Transactions involving such products are illegal and bringing them back to the United States may result in forfeitures and/or fines.
